What does atraveo by Interhome (formerly e-domizil) cost hosts in Switzerland?
What happened to e-domizil?
e-domizil AG merged with Interhome (HHD AG), and both belong to the HomeToGo Group. e-domizil hosts now operate under atraveo by Interhome. According to Interhome, the host model and terms remain unchanged, but Interhome is now your contractual partner. Interhome acts as a tour operator and is the guest’s contractual partner, not you.
How much is atraveo’s commission?
According to atraveo’s FAQ, the standard deduction is 19.5% of the rental price you set, including ancillary costs paid in advance. This applies regardless of the booking channel. For hosts resident in Switzerland, the rate is 17.5% plus VAT. There are no listing or fixed fees.
It is unclear what the VAT is charged on. The likely basis is 8.1% on the commission, which brings the total to 18.92%. The former e-domizil website, however, referred to accommodation VAT on the rental price. At the current rate of 3.8%, that would make 21.3%. Ask for a sample statement before doing the maths.
How much do you keep from an atraveo booking in CHF?
Example from Grindelwald: 4 nights at CHF 180 plus CHF 120 for cleaning comes to CHF 840, or CHF 23'100 over the year.
| Option | Rate | Cost on CHF 840 | You keep | Cost per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17.5% + 8.1% VAT on the commission, cleaning paid in advance | 18.92% | CHF 158.91 | CHF 681.09 | CHF 4'370 |
| As above, cleaning paid on site | 18.92% on CHF 720 | CHF 136.21 | CHF 703.79 | CHF 3'746 |
| 17.5% + 3.8% on the rental price | 21.3% | CHF 178.92 | CHF 661.08 | CHF 4'920 |
| For comparison: Airbnb since 13 October 2026 | 16.76% | CHF 140.75 | CHF 699.25 | CHF 3'871 |
This makes atraveo the most expensive of the major channels. The price includes marketing through its sales network, booking and payment processing, a service team and damage insurance.
When does atraveo pay you?
Interhome transfers rental income usually 7 days before arrival. For the first arrival after you start working together, Interhome pays 7 days after arrival. Interhome handles payment processing and reminders. You can also choose quarterly or annual payments in the owner portal. According to the FAQ, if you switch to another payment schedule, you can’t switch back to payment 7 days before arrival.
Who collects the tourist tax?
According to the FAQ, the tourist tax is settled on site in many cases between you and the guest. You enter the details so the guest knows the costs before booking. If a sales channel requires the tax to be collected in advance, Interhome transfers the amount to you without deducting commission. You remain responsible for settling the amount with the local authority. Find the rates for each location under tourist tax.
What are the rules for cancellations, damage and contracts?
- Cancellations: You can’t set your own terms; Interhome’s customer terms and conditions apply. If a guest cancels from 60 days before arrival onwards, you receive the cancellation fees minus commission, provided the property is not re-let.
- Insurance: Damage is covered up to EUR/CHF 3'000 per booking and EUR/CHF 20'000 per property per year, with no excess. Damage costing less than EUR/CHF 200 is not covered.
- Calendar: If a double booking happens because a calendar hasn’t been updated, Interhome bookings take priority. Keep your calendar up to date via iCal or an integration.
- Contract: You can cancel the arrangement by 30 November each year, effective at the end of the calendar year. Confirmed bookings remain binding. Details at cancelling atraveo.
