What’s a good alternative to e-domizil for Swiss hosts?

What happened to e-domizil?

e-domizil AG merged with Interhome (HHD AG). Both belong to the HomeToGo Group. Hosts are now listed under atraveo by Interhome, while the e-domizil portal remains available to guests as a booking channel. According to Interhome, the host model and terms remain the same. So if you’re looking for an alternative, you’re looking for an alternative to an agent charging 17.5% plus VAT.

What’s atraveo by Interhome good for?

  • Reach: Interhome markets your property through its sales network on many booking portals.
  • Get paid early: Payment is usually made 7 days before arrival, or 7 days after the first arrival.
  • Less risk: Interhome is the tour operator and the guest’s contractual partner, and handles payments and debt collection.
  • Insurance: Damage up to EUR/CHF 3'000 per booking and EUR/CHF 20'000 per property per year, with no excess.
  • No fixed costs: You only pay when someone books through Interhome. You also get 20% off your own Interhome holidays.

How much does e-domizil cost you in CHF?

Example in Grindelwald: 4 nights at CHF 180 plus CHF 120 for cleaning comes to CHF 840. With 8.1% VAT on the commission, you pay 18.92%, or CHF 158.91 per stay. It’s unclear whether VAT is charged this way or deducted at 3.8% from the rental price. In that case, it would be 21.3%.

This calculation assumes you’d fill the same nights another way. If atraveo brings you guests you wouldn’t otherwise get, CHF 874 for CHF 4'620 in revenue is a fair price.

How is Stovita different from e-domizil?

What alternatives are there to e-domizil?

  • Airbnb and Booking.com directly: 16.76% and 13.6 to 16.6%; more work with guests, your own cancellation rules. See platform comparison.
  • Tourist office: In Lenzerheide, 10% plus VAT on the rental price for standard channels. See tourist office.
  • Your own booking website: 0% commission; you find the guests yourself, especially repeat guests.
  • Combine them: Keep atraveo for new guests and take repeat guests directly. Stovita keeps all your calendars in sync.

How can you switch without losing bookings?

  1. Sign up for Stovita and add the calendar link from atraveo by Interhome. Use the new Interhome export link, not the old e-domizil link.
  2. Connect Airbnb, Booking.com and your booking website so that a booking blocks availability everywhere.
  3. Review how much revenue atraveo brings in over one season.
  4. Decide by 30 November whether to cancel for the following year. Confirmed bookings remain binding after that. Find details under cancelling atraveo.

Keep e-domizil if it brings you guests, and take repeat guests directly: Stovita connects calendars using a calendar link and charges 0% commission. Registration is free.
