Airbnb collects and remits the tourist tax in the canton of Fribourg.

Cantonal and regional tourist tax under the Loi sur le tourisme (LT) of 8 October 2021 and the Règlement sur le tourisme (RT) of 7 December 2021 (both in force from 1 January 2022; the RT has remained unchanged since); uniform rate of CHF 3.00 according to the UFT rate sheet (approved by the Council of State, as at 1 January 2023; previous legislation applied until the end of 2022, Art. 58 LT). Applies in all municipalities in Fribourg; municipalities may only levy a tourism tax on businesses (Art. 36 LT), not their own guest tax. Collected by the Centrale fribourgeoise d'encaissement (UFT); registration and reporting through CheckIn-FR are compulsory. Landlords report guest nights and collect the tax (Art. 34 para. 3 LT); the owners’ flat rate (150 nights × CHF 3.00, payable from 1 March) covers only owners and their close family. According to the UFT, Airbnb collects the tax directly (UFT–Airbnb agreement).
